“Sales Funnels Just Don’t Work For Me”
3 reasons why your sales funnel isn’t delivering sales
When you’ve put the blood, sweat and tears into building your sales funnel and it doesn’t deliver, its heartbreaking.
I feel you pain, really I do.
I’ve been there before, too.
In the last version of my business where the majority of my income came from courses and programs I built a sales funnel and it simply did not deliver.
Now, since building sales funnels for scores of clients AND myself, I know why that was.
When a sales funnel isn’t working, it almost ALWAYS comes down to one of these four things.
📣 MESSAGING
Your messaging isn’t speaking directly to your ideal client's needs or desires.
Perhaps you’re not speaking to your audience’s real pain points or goals.
Perhaps the transformation of your offer isn’t clear or isn’t something your audience really want.
I know heart breaking 💔 BUT fixable.
If you have a niggling feeling this might be why your sales funnel isn’t working, have a go at writing out the one main measurable transformation of you offer.
For example, my sales funnel course Freedom Friendly Funnels is 6-weeks to recurring revenue, & *real* freedom.
Does that mean every single person who takes my course is going to be driving recurring revenue in 6 weeks, no. Because not everyone will work through the modules at the intended pace, and that’s A-OK.
But I KNOW it’s possible, because I’ve seen students create that reality. Therefore that’s my offer promise. 💸
It's a promise (of what will happen when you follow the course and take action), not a guarantee.
If this is what's missing from your sales funnel messaging, have a go at clarifying your measurable outcome for your funnel offer.
🏃 URGENCY
I used to build sales funnels for my clients without any kind of limited time discount or bonus offer, and they worked perfectly.
And then 2024 happened... 💥
This year the way people buy online has changed dramatically. People expect limited time discounts, bonus offers and flash sales.
This is commonplace in online retail shopping, but it’s also becoming commonplace with digital products and online courses.
You can either offer a discount, or a bonus when your leads join within an x-day timespan. Or both.
Having genuinely time-limited urgency in your evergreen sales funnel will get people taking action.

✨ NOT SELLING IN YOUR FUNNEL
Ok, so you THINK you’re selling in your funnel emails… but are you selling enough?
9 times out of 10 when I look at someone's sales funnel they’re simply not selling enough.
There’s no call to action, no buttons.
The copy is apologetic. “Join if you like but no worries if not” vibes.
The sales message is one line and in a tiny font.
You’ve got to be selling in your sales funnel. This is why I’ve included over 29 email templates in my course Freedom Friendly Funnels, so you can NAIL the actual selling part of your sales funnel.
👯 AAAAND THE CLASSIC MISTAKE
Rolling in with a fourth sales funnel mishap which has nothing to do with your sales funnel at all.
You might have built the Rolls Royce of sales funnels... buuuut without any fuel… it’s going nowhere. 🤦
You’ve got to feed your sales funnel with consistent leads for it to deliver sales.
A good sales funnel will convert at 2%. That means for every 100 leads you should be driving 2 sales.
In truth sales funnels are a numbers game, you need to be driving VOLUME to your sales funnels, we’re talking daily sign ups. 📈
Sure you can initially do this with organic activity - and you should prove your sales funnel is working with your organic audience…
… but at some point, to scale your sales you’re going to need a simple ads strategy that drives QUALITY leads to your sales funnel.
